Agentic operations
conceptoagentic ops
Agentic operations is a label several vendors use for running AI agents in production; it has no standard definition and its scope shifts by domain (network, Kubernetes, business).
Implementa formulation: the term is used with different meanings depending on who says it. A Kubernetes vendor uses it as a platform name for building, running, governing and optimizing agents on its infrastructure; others use it for networking or finance. At Implementa we prefer AI Operations as the business discipline (redesign, deploy, measure and maintain AI-enabled workflows) and treat "agentic operations" as an adjacent label that is only useful when the domain is stated. No standard or body fixes its meaning.
How it differs from
- AI Operations
- AI Operations is the business discipline of operating AI in the company; agentic operations is a vendor label with variable scope.
- AgentOps
- AgentOps focuses on the technical agent lifecycle (traces, evaluation, deployment); agentic operations fixes no specific scope.
Examples
- A Kubernetes platform branded as an "Agentic Operations Platform" for building and governing SRE agents.
- A finance team that calls agent-run reconciliation "agentic operations".
