Agentic operations

concepto

agentic ops

Agentic operations is a label several vendors use for running AI agents in production; it has no standard definition and its scope shifts by domain (network, Kubernetes, business).

Implementa formulation: the term is used with different meanings depending on who says it. A Kubernetes vendor uses it as a platform name for building, running, governing and optimizing agents on its infrastructure; others use it for networking or finance. At Implementa we prefer AI Operations as the business discipline (redesign, deploy, measure and maintain AI-enabled workflows) and treat "agentic operations" as an adjacent label that is only useful when the domain is stated. No standard or body fixes its meaning.

How it differs from

AI Operations
AI Operations is the business discipline of operating AI in the company; agentic operations is a vendor label with variable scope.
AgentOps
AgentOps focuses on the technical agent lifecycle (traces, evaluation, deployment); agentic operations fixes no specific scope.

Examples

  • A Kubernetes platform branded as an "Agentic Operations Platform" for building and governing SRE agents.
  • A finance team that calls agent-run reconciliation "agentic operations".
