Inference cost per workflow
finanzascost per agentic workflow
Inference cost per workflow is what it costs in model consumption (tokens and calls) to complete one end-to-end run of an agentic workflow, rather than a single answer.
Implementa formulation. An agentic workflow chains several model calls, tool calls and retries, so its cost is not that of a chatbot query. Measuring it requires logging consumption per run and tying it to the outcome (cost per resolution). Gartner predicts (Aug 17, 2026) that inference cost per agentic workflow will rise more than fivefold through 2028; that is a prediction without a public baseline, not a measurement.
How it differs from
- Cost per resolution
- Cost per resolution divides total cost by cases resolved; inference cost per workflow measures the model consumption of each run, resolved or not.
Examples
- A lead-qualification workflow with 12 model calls and 3 retries is counted as one run with one total cost.
FAQ
- How much does an agentic workflow cost?
- It depends on the workflow, model and retries; there is no universal figure. Gartner forecasts more than a fivefold rise through 2028 as a prediction, not a measurement.
